Katy Kwok - RP(Q), MTA, MT-BC, NMT, OCT

Katy Kwok is a Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying), Music Therapist Accredited (MTA), Neurologic Music Therapist (NMT), and Ontario Certified Teacher (OCT) who is passionate about supporting children and families through compassionate, creative, and culturally responsive care. She holds a Master’s Degree in Music Therapy from Wilfrid Laurier University. 
 

Katy has extensive experience working with children, adolescents, and caregivers across educational, healthcare, and community settings. She has supported children and families with a wide range of neurological, developmental, and mental health needs, including autism spectrum disorder (ASD), ADHD, sensory processing differences, developmental delays, learning disabilities, emotional regulation challenges, anxiety, and social communication difficulties. Katy is passionate about providing neuro-affirming care that recognizes each child’s unique strengths, abilities, and ways of experiencing the world.
 

Through her work in schools and community programs, Katy has collaborated closely with caregivers, teachers, and interdisciplinary teams to support children’s emotional well-being, social development, self-regulation, and daily functioning. She has experience facilitating individual and group therapy for toddlers, preschool, and school-age children with diverse learning, behavioural, and neurological needs, while also providing emotional support, psychoeducation, and guidance for caregivers. Katy deeply values working together with caregivers and families as collaborative partners in the therapeutic process. She believes that meaningful progress happens when children feel supported not only in therapy, but also within their home, school, and community environments.

At Bright Futures Health, Katy thoughtfully integrates music, psychotherapy, mindfulness, play-based approaches, and body-based interventions to support children and families in building emotional awareness, self-regulation, confidence, and meaningful social connections. Her approach is warm, trauma-informed, neuro-affirming, and strengths-based, always tailored to each child and family’s unique needs, developmental stage, and goals. She values creating a supportive and collaborative space where parents and caregivers feel heard, involved, and supported alongside their child.
